After an engaging conversation during the travel fair at the beginning of 2020, I received an email from Annemijn in May 2021: “Last year we met with you at the holiday fair. After your wonderful stories, we are convinced that we would like to visit Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands one day. We would like to do this during the summer holidays of 2022.”
Cheerful and informative telephone conversations followed this message, and in July/August 2022 Annemijn and Dylan went on their adventure. The trip consisted of a variety of natural wonders: the cloud forest of Mindo, the Amazon at Nicky Lodge, the volcanic highlands with a visit to the Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanoes and finally a cruise along the Galápagos Islands on the intimate yacht Bonita. The beautiful photos on this page (what a view of the Cotopaxi!) I kindly received from them.
Upon their return, they gave the biggest compliment possible for heartwarming Ecuador: “It is the first time that we have visited a country where we want to return a second time in the future”. “Where do I start? From day 1 our contact with Marianne from Aves Travels was extremely pleasant. She creates incredibly beautiful offers. She provides honest and tailor-made advice and no commercial sales chat. This alone already gives you a holiday feeling.
Once we arrived in Ecuador, everything was taken care of down to the last detail. A pleasant/nice guide that we got along well with. A full, but doable travel schedule. All the hotels that Aves Travels had provided were excellent! At the last minute we were informed that our return flight from the Amazon was cancelled. This was also perfectly resolved.
